The brand Ivanka Trump is launching in China in October, the White House announced Monday.
The brand will be the first to offer a wide range of women’s and men’s fashion items in Chinese and Chinese-inspired designs, the official said.
The line is intended to compete with high-end brands like Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana, who already operate in the country.
The new line will include a collection of accessories, shoes and accessories for men and women, the first major global debut by Ivanka Trump, a senior adviser to the president and a former fashion and jewelry designer.
The new line was launched in September, the day after the U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on women’s reproductive rights.
It includes Ivanka Trump shoes and the brand’s signature signature blouse, which features a hand-stitched silk pattern.
It also includes Ivanka’s signature collection of designer shoes, jewelry and accessories.
Ivanka Trump, who is the president’s daughter, also is expected to unveil her own line of accessories for women in the coming months, according to the official.
The White House has not yet released pricing information for the new line, but it is expected the line will range from $20-$40.
Ivankas new line is a major departure from the president, who has largely stayed out of fashion during his presidency.
Ivanka Trump has also steered clear of fashion, instead focusing on her family business.
Ivans new line marks a departure for the Trump family, who have been increasingly involved in fashion, often with the help of the fashion designers they work with.
Ivanka herself has been working with the designer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who designs for Dolce and Gabbane.
Ivajas first clothing line was introduced in the early 1980s, with a line of clothing that was created in response to the sexual revolution.
In addition to the fashion items, Ivanka Trump also is a fashion designer herself, with clothing lines like the line of shoes and jewelry that her father has been known to wear.
